Accident Reconstruction
Accident Reconstruction is the scientific process to determine how a specific incident occurred. Accident Reconstruction incorporates available information and physical evidence, along with the use of sound engineering principles and past experience. DRE provides accident reconstruction support for automotive and marine accidents, as well as other products ranging from large industrial machines to small components.
DRE routinely inspects subject vehicle(s)/watercraft(s), frequently digitizing the post-accident deformation. This information, combined with data from an undamaged exemplar, is used to evaluate collision loading events. DRE also conducts scene inspections to gather site-specific information and give context to the imposed collision forces, as well as identify site contributing factors such as visibility issues.
In some situations, testing is utilized to support and/or demonstrate findings arrived at from an accident reconstruction analysis. DRE has many capabilities within the company, as well as through established relationships with outside resources, to handle a wide variety of testing needs.
